Kale Black Tuscany Seeds 'Borecole'
Vegetable Seeds from Sow Seeds
Kale Black Tuscany, also known as Cavolo Nero, is a great easy-care veg that is packed full of vitamins. It has a long harvest period from the summer through the winter (it is hardy to -15C) to early spring when it will bolt and flower. The flowers can be eaten like 'Purple Sprouting Broccoli'.
Kale Black Tuscany has dark green 'savoy cabbage' like leaves that can be used as baby leaf salad ingredient or grown on for larger leaves to use like cabbage; sauteed, steamed or blanched.
It has a peppery taste. It is best to treat as a 'cut & come again' veg & harvest leaves when young as older leaves become tough (tip: remove the mid-rib before cooking as this takes longer to cook than the lea).
Kale, it is part of the Brassica family so treat as such in your crop rotation plan.
