Tomato Crimson Crush F1 Seeds
Vegetable Seeds from Sow Seeds
Tomato Crimson Crush F1 is legendary for its resistance to blight. Crimson Crush will provide great yields of exceptionally fine tasting, large, round tomatoes (each weighing up to 200g). Bred for outdoor growing.
Tomato Crimson Crush F1 has been bred to be resistant to Late blight, Early Blight and fruit skin cracking resistant. We grew it in 2018 and even with slightly erratic watering as the weather was very hot it coped really well and the skins didn't split easily.
It is an indeterminate (cordon) type so will require pinching out to limit its height and it can then put its energy into producing a good crop of tomatoes.
Tomato Crimson Crush F1 is a really good tasty sweet tomato, with excellent blight-resistant properties so even those gardeners who have struggled with blight in the past will find this one a reliable variety.

Tomato Crimson Crush Vegetable Seed Information

Sunny, fertile but sheltered spot or greenhouse/polytunnel
|
Type: | Indeterminate - Cordon |
When to Sow |
February to April undercover (April for outdoors)
|
How to Sow: |
Sow seeds thinly in seed trays of seed & potting compost or 2-3 seeds in small pots and cover lightly with a little compost. Firm compost gently and water carefully. Keep in heated greenhouse/propagator at about 15-20C. Transplant into larger individual pots when 10cm tall and 'harden off' plants for 3-4 days before finally planting them outside once the risk of frost has passed, at a spacing of 45cm between plants. It is best to plant deeply to a depth of 0.5cm below the seed leaves - this helps to give a nice sturdy plant. This variety can also be grown in a greenhouse in a large pot/greenhouse soil or grow bags.
|
Care: |
Keep protected if frost is forecast with a fleece or a cloche. They require daily watering and feeding with a high potassium, tomato fertiliser once a week when the fruit has begun to set. Crimson Crush F1 is a cordon tomato that will require staking and support as it produces a heavy crop of tomatoes over a long period. Will require side shoots 'pinching out'.
