Radish Winter Round Black Spanish Seeds
Vegetable Seeds from Sow Seeds
Radish Black Spanish is the counterpart to Black Spanish Long. It has crisp tasty flesh which can be sliced or grated for use in winter salads. This Heritage variety extends the radish season well into the winter period.
Also known as 'Noir Gros Rond d'Hiver'. Grown since the 16th Century or even before, what this fine round-rooted variety will give you is a deep, near-black skin and a radish with snowy-white flesh with a fine, fairly hot flavour, good raw or cooked.
Radishes don't need much space and are great used to intercrop between other veg that takes longer to mature such as sweetcorn, beans, peas etc. Small amounts of successional sowings will give a regular crop and mean that they are eaten at their best.
Radishes become woody if left in the ground too long. Great for cropping in containers too!
