Daikon Radish (Mooli) Seeds
Vegetable Seeds from Sow Seeds
Daikon Radish, also known as Mooli is a long, large white radish with a sweet, light peppery taste similar to turnip crossed with radish. It is a root vegetable that grows to about 30cm long by 10cm wide and is very easy and quick to grow, taking 4-6 weeks from sowing to harvest.
Daikon Radish can be eaten raw, sliced, shredded and unlike other radishes it can be cooked like a carrot - roasted, boiled, baked or steamed. It can also be pickled with rice vinegar, salt and a little sugar. In Japan they use it in pickles and in India they like to add to salads or soups. There are lots of lovely innovative recipes for Daikon Radish (Mooli) on the internet, it really is a very versatile veg and makes an excellent filler for low carb meals, like Mooletti, thin strands of spaghetti like Mooli made with a spiralizer.
