Runner Bean Firestorm Seeds
Vegetable Seeds from Sow Seeds
Runner Bean Firestorm is a relatively new variety that is a cross between a runner bean and a french bean. It is easy to grow, self-fertile (i.e. not requiring pollinating) and is able to set flower in high temperatures or cooler conditions and still give a high yield of runner beans.
Runner Bean Firestorm has a fleshier, more succulent texture closer to that of French Beans. They are best picked young when the pods are stringless and at their sweetest and most tender.
A UK-bred variety that might even help those who aren't so keen on the texture of runner beans to enjoy them and is such an easy variety to sow and grow. We like to trail up sweet peas with our Runner Bean wigwams and especially like to grow Blue Velvet with these scarlet flowered runners.
