Herb Corsican Mint Seeds
Herb Seeds from Sow Seeds
Corsican Mint (aka Mini Mint) is an excellent perennial herb that is hardy down to -5C. It forms a low growing mat of mint that reaches a mere 2-7cm in height and creeps to about 20cm. It is very quick to germinate within 5-7 days.
Corsican Mint is excellent for growing between paving slabs and makes for a great pepperminty fragrant herb path. This mint does slowly creep but if you wish to contain its growth keep it in pots to control its spread.
Corsican Mint has very small oval-shaped leaves that when crushed release a fresh minty aroma, it is the variety used to give Creme de Menthe its full-on flavour but is also suitable for cooking too! It produces little mauve flowers in June to August that can add a pungent fragrant but pretty addition to salads or pimp up your lamb etc.
This variety is native to Corsica, Sardinia, France and Italy and is hard to find in shops in the UK. So what could be more satisfying than picking your own homegrown mini minty leaves year after year with the bonus of being a very attractive ground cover plant!
Please note - to ensure that the seeds reach you in perfect condition they are dispatched in a plastic vial.
